How to get to Ljubljana?

By train/Bus:

Both the main bus station (Avtobusna postaja Ljubljana) and the main train station (Železniška postaja Ljubljana) are conveniently located in the city center. While the stations share the same general area, the bus ticket office is in a smaller building situated right next to the main train station, whose main entrance is shown in the picture to the right. Due to ongoing renovations at the train station, be aware of possible temporary foot detours.

By plane:

Ljubljana airport (LJU) is situated in Brnik, 27 km from the city. We strongly advise against taking a taxi from the airport taxi stand, as fares can be expensive (100 euros/per ride). We recommend you use a more cost-effective alternative: you can either reserve a shuttle seat in advance or take the public bus. Please be aware that buses accept cash payments only.

getting to the Venue

The venue is located a short distance form the city center and is easily accessible by foot, public transport, a rented city bike, or a taxi.

On Foot:

If you decide to walk from the city center to the venue, the trip will take you approx. 40 min.

By bus:

We recommend taking the public bus to the venue. Buses 6, 8, and 11 will take you to the Mercator bus stop, which is a short walk from the Faculty of Social Sciences.

You can pay your bus fare with a contactless credit card on board or by using an Urbana card, i.e., the city’s transportation card, which will cost you 2 euros. You can top up your Urbana card from a green vending machine or a city kiosk. Both are shown side-by-side on the picture right. The Urbana app is also available to use your phone as a virtual card.

By bike:

You can also rent a city bike through the Bicikelj service, which has stations conveniently located throughout the city. To use the bikes, you need to register on the Bicikelj website or app, and purchase a weekly (1 euro) or yearly (3 euros) subscription. By taxi:

A single taxi ride from the city center to the venue should cost approximately 8 to 10 euros. For your convenience, you can book a taxi through an app (we recommend Cammeo, Metro Taxi, or Uber) or call a service directly:
